South Austin

South Central Austin is widely recognized as one of Austin's most iconic areas.  Known for its unique neighborhoods, trendy restaurants, funky shops, and of course Zilker Park. Revered for its convenient location and charming homes, this community has a rich sense of history dating back to the 1920s. Offering a wide variety of homes including luxury townhomes, fabulous new condos and charming bungalows, the residents of the area enjoy the ample outdoor space like Lady Bird Lake and the hip, yet laid-back ambiance the area cultivates.  This area is served by Austin ISD and several local private schools can be easily accessed. South Congress (Soco): South Congress, commonly referred to as SoCo, is one of the most well-known areas in Austin due to its trendy and hip atmosphere. Located just south of Lady Bird Lake, South Congress provides some of the most spectacular views of Downtown Austin and the capitol building. Local boutiques, eclectic shops, neighborhood bars, and delicious restaurants run along Congress Ave, keeping this neighborhood busy 7 days a week. Popular with both locals and tourists.  Most notably known for its iconic neon signs, upscale food truck scene, funky stores, and live music venues make the South Congress neighborhood a true Austin gem.  You will find celebrities staying at the cool boutique local hotels: Hotel San Jose, Hotel St Cecilia, and South Congress Hotel. For dining you can enjoy one of many fabulous food trucks parked along S. Congress or hit some famous Austin favorites like Home Slice Pizza, Guerros Taco Bar, Perlas Seafood,and Vespaios. The Continental Club is one of the best known spots in the city for live music.

 

Bouldin: Established in the 1920s, the historic homes of Bouldin make up one of Austin’s oldest neighborhoods. Situated off of South First, the Bouldin area offers mouth-watering restaurants like Elizabeth Street Cafe & the landmark Bouldin Cafe. Centrally located within the area to the south of Downtown, residents enjoy the easy access to the city center, Lady Bird Lake, the Austin Hike and Bike trail, South Congress, and to Austin's most loved Zilker Park.

 

Travis Heights: Established in the 1920s, the Travis Heights neighborhood offers a blend of historic homes, modern residences, and newly constructed condominiums. It is shaded by mature live oak trees with winding streets.  It has an eclectic collection of homes.  With its close proximity to both South Congress and Downtown Austin, this neighborhood is an appealing place to live for young professionals and families alike. Barton Hills: Nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, Barton Hills is a small residential community offering mostly ranch style homes.
